Position

Hayley is a Legal Director, Chartered Trade Mark Attorney and Part-Qualified Patent Attorney in our commercial and intellectual property team.

commercial lawyer, Hayley deals with both contentious and non-contentious intellectual property (IP) matters including in relation to copyright, designs, trade marks, patents, database rights, company names and domain names.

She assists clients throughout the entire IP prosecution process, from IPR audits and clearance searches to filing, prosecution and watches. Hayley also assists in relation to IP strategy, management and policies, as well as contractual matters such as assignments, licences and due diligence during corporate restructuring.

A qualified IP litigator, Hayley also specialises in contentious IP. She acts before the registries in oppositions and cancellations and in relation to formal infringement actions and litigation before the courts. She takes a commercially minded and pragmatic approach to disputes, seeking to identify routes to mutual resolution that are beneficial to all parties.

Acting for a wide range of clients — from multinationals to SMEs and individuals — Hayley has strong experience in advising professional services organisations and is trusted by many international attorneys.

Having studied and worked in IP since 2007, Hayley has a Master’s degree in Chemistry with Patent Law (MChem) and is a part-qualified patent attorney. This has given her a strong understanding of complex concepts and enables her to advise many science and technology companies as a member of our technology sector group.
