Career
Laura specialises in serious and catastrophic personal injury claims, often representing clients who have experienced an amputation or a significant brain injury in an accident.
Laura has worked as a Chartered Legal Executive for almost two decades and joined Hudgell Solicitors in 2022 where she works solely on high-value serious injury cases and is highly skilled in negotiation and civil litigation.
Laura acts as first and primary contact for clients on a day-to-day basis, guiding them through the legal process with care and empathy, often exceeding client expectations and achieving the best possible settlements.
Laura is skilled in managing complex rehabilitation packages to meet seriously injured clients’ specific requirements, which often involve obtaining substantial interim payments for treatments, prosthetic limbs and home adaptations.
As a Chartered Legal Executive, Laura also ensures the future needs of her clients, and their families, are fully accounted for when compensation awards are assessed.
Laura's cases Laura has been involved in a case where a client lost a limb in a motorcycle accident. A rehabilitation package was put in place to meet his specific requirements, which included obtaining a substantial interim payment in order to privately fund a variety of prosthetic limbs which enable him to continue with life as independently as possible. He was able to return to the gym, something he didn’t think was possible.
Another client Laura has supported sustained a brain injury and complex orthopaedic injuries, also in a motorcycle accident. To ensure a thorough investigation took place, Laura and her colleagues worked tirelessly to analyse CCTV, interview witnesses and consulted an accident reconstruction expert.
They were able to establish the facts relating to speed, line of sight and the distance he was thrown.
