Career

Luke Maidens is a Partner and Head of Blacks' Real Estate Litigation team. He joined Blacks in 2021 with over 15 years’ experience, having previously been a Property Litigation Partner at a major international law firm.

Luke specialises in resolving complex property disputes and advises on the full range of real estate litigation matters, acting for landlords, developers and commercial occupiers.

He’s also a leading authority in telecommunications law. Since the introduction of the new Electronic Communications Code in 2017, Luke has acted in some of the UK’s most significant cases in this area and regularly advises on the installation of telecoms equipment on land. He co-authored The Electronic Communications Code and Property Law: Practice and Procedure, the leading legal text on telecoms property law.

Recent cases include a landmark lease renewal trial for WHSmith, defending high-value dilapidations claims for a global manufacturer, and securing vacant possession of a prime development site in a major city centre. He’s recognised by The Legal 500 as a “Next Generation Partner”.
