Personal tax, trusts and probate Tier 3

The growing private client team at Wansbroughs covers a wide range of matters, including complex tax planning for landed estates, inheritance tax planning, and the administration of trusts. Practice head(s):

The quality of the staff providing service to their clients is the main standout aspect of the firm.

I have known and worked with Emily Anderson for many years, and Emily is one of the finest legal professionals I have worked with. Emily’s attention to detail and ability to explain complex situations to my clients in a way that they can understand is very highly regarded. Emily’s professionalism and guidance are highly valued by me and my clients.

The advice is timely and accurate, enabling decisions to be made quickly on the basis of the advice given.

I worked primarily with Kathryn Smith Cowap, who exhibited high levels of professionalism under time pressure. Her advice was not only accurate, but also appropriate and on-point, enabling high-value decisions to be taken swiftly.

Anna Wensley Stock is extremely bright, hardworking and responsive. She has a very nimble mind and gets right to what’s important. Kathryn Smith Cowap is extremely knowledgeable and has a delightful manner that is invaluable when balancing with the diverse opinions of lay trustees.

The main reason I have chosen to work with Wansboroughs is the general ‘un-stuffy’ approach they take to advice. Clients do not feel pressured or as if they are on the clock. They have a wide range of experts in all legal areas and cover every need for clients.

When working with Anna Wensley Stock clients feel confident they are in the very best hands. She is professional, highly intelligent and, above all, empathetic to clients’ needs. She has that rare ability to know when to listen and when to talk. She explains things clearly and at the right level for the client to understand. Trust and estate planning is a complex area and she manages to demystify the process. Work is quickly and accurately turned around. I have no intention of using any other solicitor whilst she is available.

Alan Ciechan is exceptionally good at drafting documents and understanding requirements, and always deals with matters very promptly.

Clinical negligence and personal injury: defendant

Wansbroughs' insurance litigation group mainly defends local authorities and other public bodies, although it is also instructed by insurers and corporate clients in a variety of cases. Robert Hams takes the lead, specialising in stress, bullying and harassment claims and inquests. Michael Davies is another experienced lawyer who has taken personal injury cases to the Court of Appeal.

Practice head(s):
