Associate Solicitor

Melinda is an Associate in our Residential Development Team and qualified as a Solicitor in 1995.

She has more than 25 years’ experience acting for private developers, from local to national, and registered providers on property development matters.

Melinda focuses on:

Site acquisitions – conditional and unconditional contracts, options and consortium developments.

The provision of infrastructure for development.

Affordable housing sales and acquisitions.

Site set-up arrangements for plot sales including management arrangements for shared facilities and overseeing plots sales.

Legacy issues such as amendments to infrastructure agreements and the granting of additional easements to procure the final adoption of estate infrastructure

Melinda graduated from Nottingham Law School with a 2:1 Honours Law Degree and obtained a merit in The Law Society’s final examinations, before completing a training contract in South East London and qualifying as a Solicitor in 1995. After an early career in private practice, the majority of Melinda’s career to date was spent in-house with major national developers, before returning to private practice in 2017 and joining Birketts in 2023, following Birketts’ merger with Batchelors.
