Career

Kessaven is a Barrister-at-Law. He joined the firm in 2017. He currently holds the position of a senior associate at Uteem Chambers.

Kessaven regularly represents clients in front of Mauritius courts, tribunals and committees in relation to employment, tax, civil and corporate litigations.

He regularly reviews and drafts contract of employments, service agreements and various corporate and legal documents including loan agreements, constitutions, resolutions, PPMs, shareholders agreements, subscription agreements, guarantees, internal manuals, compliance manuals and policies, legal certificates and legal opinions.

Kessaven is also regularly called upon to advise on numerous corporate finances and structured finance transactions involving international banks, financial institutions and other multinational corporations. He drafts and reviews various Mauritius law governed security documents and also reviews foreign law governed security documents from a Mauritian law perspective. He is regularly called upon to advise on validity and enforceability of foreign law governed security documents in Mauritius.
