His practicing areas are shipping, insurance, international trade, cross-border insolvency, international litigation & arbitration and he deals with a variety of cases including charterparty / BL disputes, cargo claims, crew injury, fire, explosion, collision, groundings, salvage, oil pollution, limitation, total loss. He has acted for international shipowners, their insurers and P&I Clubs including North of England, Britannia, Gard, UK, London, West of England, Steamship Mutual, American Club, Swedish P&I, Japan P&I, QBE Hong Kong & Shanghai Insurance, Korea P&I, Korea Shipping Association et al. He also acted for Korean major shipping companies such as Hyundai Merchant Marine, Hyundai Glovis, KMTC, Pan Ocean, Sinokor Merchant Marine, Dong-A Tanker. In the Hebei Spirit oil pollution case, the largest oil spill incident in the history of Korea, he acted as the legal adviser to the Korean government, the local county and the major group of claimants living in the most affected areas. KM Moon has represented foreign shipowners in cross-border insolvency cases arising from Korean rehabilitation proceedings of Samsun Logix, Korea Line Corporation, STX Pan Ocean and Hanjin Shipping under the instruction of the major FD&D Clubs.
