Adrian Emch is a Senior Counsel, based in Hylands’ Shanghai office. He is a specialist in antitrust and competition law.

Adrian has broad experience in all aspects of competition law, including merger control, multi-jurisdictional merger filings, cartel investigations, and antitrust counselling. In recent years, Adrian has also worked on investigations and counseling in relation to the EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation.

Apart from his work at Hylands, Adrian Emch is a lecturer of competition law at Shanghai Jiaotong University Law School, and used to teach at Peking University’s Law School.

Prior to joining Hylands, Adrian Emch completed an internship with the Directorate-General of Competition (DG COMP) at the European Commission (DG COMP) and worked at international law firms in Brussels, Beijing and Shanghai in the field of competition law.

Adrian is widely recognized as competition law practitioner. For example, he has been listed Band 1 for China competition law by Chambers & Partners since 2016.
