Career

Nadia Liyana graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) with a First Class (Hons) in 2011. She has been consistently achieved the Dean’s List marks throughout her undergraduate programme.

She joined Azmi & Associates in July 2011 under the supervision of our Partner, Abu Daud Abd Rahim. She was called to the Malaysian Bar and admitted to the roll of Advocates and Solicitors in 2012. Some of her notable assignments amongst others are as follows:

conducted legal due diligence for an integrated venture capital solutions provider against technology-based companies, pursuant to the establishment of the first-of-its-kind Business Growth Fund under the 10th Malaysian Plan; conducted a competition due diligence audit for an airport operator in Malaysia; assisted in advising an international company based in Mauritius against a Malaysian company involved in the BMW seat sewing and seat assembly business; conducted legal due diligence for a Bumiputera Agenda Coordinating Unit, armed with a MYR2 billion fund with initiatives to drive Bumiputera companies in Malaysia; advised on company incorporation matters in Malaysia; assisted in pthe reparation of agreements for a subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Berhad in a district cooling project for the supply of chilled-water, to a business entity; participated actively in providing advice to a venture capital firm wholly-owned by the Minister of Finance Inc, primarily involved in investment activities in relation to the settlement of investment agreements with technology-based companies in Malaysia; drafted and negotiated in sale and purchase of land transactions and involved in various conveyancing matters; advised a newly established company involved in the provision of education in Malaysia in relation to the drafting of shareholders agreement, nominee director agreements and trust deeds; and advised and prepared legal documentations for a company for the disposal of its 100% interest in its subsidiary by way of an open tender process.
