Position

Robin Beattie is a Partner in our Dispute Resolutions and Claims team based in Angus. Robin has worked for the firm from the outset of his legal career, having trained with the firm after obtaining an Honours degree in Law and a Diploma in Legal Practice, both from the University of Dundee.

Whilst Robin handles a broad range of contentious matters and general litigation work, he specialises in Guardianship cases.  Robin has assisted hundreds of families all over Scotland in obtaining Guardianship Orders for their loved ones under the Adults with Incapacity legislation.  He is well placed to advise clients on all issues of incapacity and he has extensive experience of applying to the Sheriff Court for Guardianship provisions to protect incapable adults of all ages.  Robin’s passion lies in assisting families to obtain vital Guardianship Orders and to make the Court process as simply as possible for them.

In addition, Robin covers a broad range of contentious cases and appears regularly at Sheriff and Justice of the Peace Courts throughout Scotland on behalf of his clients. He has extensive experience of criminal defence work and civil litigation. Robin can provide advice to clients on a wide range of litigation matters.

Robin’s clients have praised his sympathetic and personable approach.

Robin sits on the Board of Directions of Forfar Athletic F.C. where he also serves as their current Company Secretary.
