Capital markets: the capital markets group advises on transactions involving public companies engaged in European and global securities offerings. The team acts for underwriters, listed companies, their sponsors, and appointed advisers across all types of European securities offerings.
Real estate and construction: the firm’s real estate practice includes commercial real estate and financing, representation of institutional investors in cross-border transactional work, and advice on asset management. The construction practice has key strengths in finance and insolvency, energy, healthcare, hotels, major projects and infrastructure, etc.
Media, entertainment and arts: the team has extensive experience in every major area including: advertising and marketing, broadcasting and film, financing of media companies, gaming, interactive media, music, etc.
IP: the firm advises IP-rich businesses globally across all IP rights, including litigation, copyright, licensing, trade mark portfolio management, strategic or transactional advice. The French IP department’s strong experience is further enriched by the expertise of British and German IP teams, thus offering a highly specialised pan-European service.
IT and telecoms: the team works for diverse clients ranging from blue-chip global brands to smaller enterprises with novel business models and technologies. The team also advises startups through various funding rounds and eventual exit. The team also advises on digital media products.
Litigation and dispute resolution: the firm’s activity encompasses white-collar crime, fraud and asset recovery, IT litigation, disputes between shareholders and companies, and product liability. It also represents its clientele on ADR mechanisms such as mediation and conciliation. We have developed a practice in national and international arbitration, notably under ICC.
Competition, EU and trade: the department has extensive expertise in distribution and commercial agreements, including commercial agency, manufacturing and supply agreements, terms and conditions of sale, etc. The firm works with the European Commission, the French Competition Authority and the antitrust division of the Ministry of Economy.
Public, environment and projects: the firm’s covers all fields of regulatory, administrative and environmental law, as well as contentious administrative proceedings. The team handles a wide variety of projects in government-related areas, with a particular focus on: PPPs, privatisations, liberalisation of regulated sectors, environment and public international law.
Tax: particular strengths of the firm’s tax team include international and cross-border tax planning, direct/indirect tax treatment, on/offshore funds, share incentives, IP planning, patrimonial taxation and tax litigation.
Employment: the firm advises on all fields of individual and collective employment law, including social security regulations and tax. The team is very experienced in advising on restructurings and in permanent employment law advice.
Compliance: Taylor Wessing assists clients to comply with the French Sapin II Law adopted on 8 November 2016, but also with the FCPA, the UKBA and other anti-corruption laws in force in many countries. Its services cover risk assessment, prevention, assistance during investigation procedures by relevant authorities, and preparation for the new ISO 37001 standard certification in compliance.
Restructuring: Taylor Wessing assists companies in the context of preventive operations (conciliation, ad hoc mandate, judicial safeguard in particular) but also in the context of their restructuring, in particular in the context of receivership or judicial liquidation. We assist both companies in the context of solutions aimed at their restructuring and managers who may be subject to actions for individual sanctions. In addition, we assist Taylor Wessing’s clients in the takeover of companies or individual assets in insolvency proceedings.
