Position
Helen is a partner in the intellectual property group. She is skilled litigator of intellectual property disputes with a particular focus on patent litigation in the technology sector.
Helen advises on contentious matters across the spectrum of IP rights. She has significant expertise in managing multi-jurisdictional patent litigation and in devising patent litigation strategies for clients on a pan-European and global basis including advising on strategies pertaining to the UPC. Helen has represented clients at all levels of proceedings before the English Courts she also has experience of arbitration and mediation in the context of patent disputes.
Helen's practice focusses primarily on clients in the technology sector. Alongside her expertise in patent disputes, and drawing upon her technology experience, Helen also advises on copyright matters and in disputes relating to trade secrets in that sector.
She has advised clients on disputes concerning the most complex of technologies, including algorithmic trading software, audio-watermarking in film, and on patent disputes regarding standard essential and non-essential patents including questions of FRAND. She also has considerable experience advising on patents pertaining to medical devices, digital health products and emerging assistive technologies.
Helen is highly recommended for Patent Litigation and Strategy (IAM Patent 1000, 2024), she was recognised as a Leader in the World Intellectual Property Review 2024. She was also recognised as an as a Standout Lawyer by Acritas Stars in 2018 and 2019, recognised as a Leader in the Field of Patents by WIPR Leaders since, 2016, and IP Rising Star in the MIP Women in Business Law Awards in 2015.
Helen regularly speaks and moderates at conferences on IP law. She is a former Officer of the IP and Entertainment Law Committee of the IBA, a member of the European Patent Lawyers Association and of the International Association of Intellectual Property.
