Owen Tse is a partner of Vivien Chan & Co. His practice covers brand protection and anti-counterfeit strategy, intellectual property rights enforcement and litigation, and multi-jurisdictional dispute resolution. He is also experienced in advising on regulatory compliance.
Mr Tse regularly advises multinational companies and international brands on global and regional brand protection and anti-counterfeiting programme, complex franchising, licensing, intellectual property transactional disputes, intellectual property infringement and passing-off and unfair competition lawsuits. He also advises on filing and enforcement strategies against trademark, trade name and domain name squatters. He has a track record of formulating litigation strategy and leading settlement negotiations to achieve favourable outcomes for clients in complex disputes. His experience in regulatory compliance includes food and drug regulations, data protection, privacy laws, trade promotion regulations, competition laws, pyramid selling prohibition laws and SFC regulations.
Mr Tse has served on different committees of the INTA. He has been repeatedly recognised as the leading IP lawyer and leading dispute resolution lawyer by various publications, including WTR1000 - Bronze - Individuals: enforcement and litigation.
Mr Tse is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. He is admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong. He is a Notary Public and a China-Appointed Attesting Officer. He was among the first batch of lawyers to obtain the Greater Bay Area lawyer qualification in China.
