Fandy Ip is a partner of Vivien Chan & Co. She represents clients in all areas of intellectual property practice including non-contentious, contentious and transactional IP.

Fandy assists clients in portfolio management in Asia, building and developing valuable brands and IP assets while maneuvering the intricacies of the jurisdictions. She devises and executes multi-channel strategy against bad faith squatter syndicates which pre-emptily register client’s marks. She successfully took back many brands for foreign clients, enabling them to enter into the Chinese market. She has successfully obtained well-known status for foreign brands and devised effective watch strategy to locate and tackle copycat companies effectively. She advises on licensing and other transactional intellectual property, IP due diligence and strategic acquisitions in complicated deals, including advising on one of the largest IP asset-backed bonds and advising on significant co-operations between foreign famous brands and local up-and-coming e-commerce platforms. She is an appointed examiner with the Hong Kong Customs, representing clients to tackle counterfeits via border enforcement, raids, Customs training and criminal actions. She tackles copycats via unfair competition litigation, online complaints and administrative actions.

Fandy is a qualified solicitor in Hong Kong. She also obtained the Greater Bay Area Legal Professional Examination in China.

She assists clients in a wide range of industries and her most significant works are in the industries of fashion and luxury, technology and entertainment.
