Vivien Chan is the founding and senior partner of Vivien Chan & Co, a Greater China law firm with offices in Hong Kong (1985) and Beijing (1993). She has more than 40 years’ experience in mergers and acquisitions, China direct investment, corporate services, employment, technology transfers, information technology, intellectual property and related tax issues.

Ms. Chan was awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star (2014), Bronze Bauhinia Star (2008) and Justice of the Peace (2000) by the Government of the HKSAR for her outstanding public service. She was also awarded Outstanding Hong Kong Women Professionals and Entrepreneurs Award (2005), China’s 100 Outstanding Women Entrepreneurs (2010), and Lifetime Achievement Award-American Chamber of Commerce (2017).

Ms Chan was recognised as one of the China's Elite 100 Lawyers (Foreign Firms) by China Business Law Journal (2019, 2020, 2021). She has also been consistently recognised as a leading lawyer in the field of intellectual property by notable legal publications, including Chambers and Partners, Managing IP (IP Stars), World Trademark Review, World IP Review, Asialaw, and Who's Who Legal.

Ms Chan has held numerous leadership roles in both the legal profession and public service. Previously, she served as members of the Council of the Law Society of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong, and was the President of the Inter Pacific Bar Association. Ms Chan was one of the founding members of the Hong Kong UNICEF, and served 10 years as their Vice Chairman. She chaired numerous statutory boards and advisory boards, including serving as chairman of the Estate Agent Authority from 2008 to 2014.

Ms Chan is a Notary Public and a China-Appointed Notary Attesting Officer. She is on the panel of arbitrators for China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, Shenzhen Arbitration Commission and Shanghai International Arbitration Centre arbitrator. Ms Chan received her law degree from King’s College, University of London, and is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales, Hong Kong, Australia and Singapore.
