CLIENT: Larissa Logan
COMPANY/FIRM: Ernst and Young
TESTIMONIAL: We value Lynne Van and the Anthony Harper team’s advice and assistance. We enjoy their support, pragmatic business advice and on-point strategic analysis. Lynne is always willing to help and Lynne’s commercial focus and clear insights have proved invaluable to us. The team always deliver and I do not hesitate in recommending them.

CLIENT: Steve Lawrence
COMPANY/FIRM: PKF Corporate Recovery & Insolvency (Auckland) Limited
TESTIMONIAL: The insolvency team at Anthony Harper have, for several years now, consistently provided me with high quality advice and assistance. In particular, I wish to mention Dan Hughes, Lynne Van and Harriet Quinlan. I value their individual and combined ability to provide commercial, pragmatic and creative solutions, and results for our team. I must single out Lynne Van on this occasion as she was instrumental in assisting PKF with a successful outcome at the Supreme Court earlier this year. Furthermore, they are always available to take that after hours call and go the extra mile. Nothing seems to be too much of a bother. I am pleased to say not only do I regard them as excellent lawyers/advisors, but friends as well, which is an honour.

CLIENT: Keith Harris
COMPANY/FIRM: Insolvency Management
TESTIMONIAL: Our firm recently required the services of litigation experts. Harriet Quinlan was assigned to our case. Harriet was responsible for providing all of the briefs of evidence and related submissions. All these tasks were performed well above our expectations. Harriet was a stickler for detail and was extremely professional in all her dealings. The complex Insolvency arguments were all soundly based and researched, as a result we won the High Court case. Harriet is easy to communicate with and we would have no hesitation in recommending her.

CLIENT: Ashley Kingham
COMPANY/FIRM: Public Trust
TESTIMONIAL: Nick Summerfield impresses with his technical accuracy, responsiveness, and pragmatism. Nick has provided us with commercial and practical advice under tight time pressures, which adds value to the outcomes we can provide for our clients.

CLIENT: Andrew Millard
COMPANY/FIRM: Millard Construction Cost Consultants Limited
TESTIMONIAL: In over 30 years in the construction industry, I have worked with a significant number of law firms and lawyers and without doubt I consider Anthony Harper and Karen Kemp as one of the most client focussed and articulate lawyers I have worked with. I have worked with Karen for the past few years and have always felt she has provided excellent professional advice to the clients.

Karen will fight the fight, but is also not afraid to give clients advice they may not want to hear. But this advice will be presented with options and strategies to ensure the client is fully informed and able to make an informed decision.

While Karen takes the lead on cases, she fully understands and embraces teamwork and building and maintaining a strong team is vital to achieving the best outcome for her clients.

It’s probably not often said about lawyers, but I find Karen a pleasure to work with.

CLIENT: Jonathan Gardiner, CFO, Lyttelton Port
COMPANY/FIRM: Lyttelton Port of Christchurch
TESTIMONIAL: As the Chief Financial Officer at Lyttelton Port I have been impressed with the analysis, advice and assistance Anthony Harper has provided to our company. Across a number of transactions critical to our business, they have guided us with pragmatic solutions, good advice and timely assistance.

CLIENT: Kathryn Hatton
COMPANY/FIRM: Morgan Project Services
TESTIMONIAL: Morgan Project Services rapidly expanded its service base during the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery programme and as a consequence it’s staffing requirements grew from approximately 7 personnel to 135 personnel. During this time we relied heavily on recruiting professionally qualified personnel from overseas to support our client’s needs. Morgan Project Services has relied on Nicola Tiffen’s legal expertise in Immigration Law for over 4 years to assist with this corporate growth. She has proven on numerous occasions to be invaluable, in providing a clear road map to meet the legislative requirements, delivery of legal documentation, excellent communications and a personable persona which has reduced the time frames, stress and anxiety of the personnel dealing with immigration situations that have arisen. We would highly recommend Nicola for all such immigration services.

CLIENT: Dr Jon Tanner, Chief Executive
COMPANY/FIRM: Wood Processors and Manufacturers Association
TESTIMONIAL: Many thanks to Annelies for her help over the past few weeks in working to put together WPMA’s submission on amendments to the OIA. It was much appreciated. We recognise that log exports to subsidised processors overseas represent a major threat to the viability of our sector and the regional communities that depend on us. That said, the WPMA was keen to provide a view that would better regulate the market but in a way that involved the lightest OIO scrutiny. I believe your advice helped the WPMA Board achieve that balance.

CLIENT: Aaron Kenny, Senior Analyst Strategic Projects
COMPANY/FIRM: Synlait Milk Limited
TESTIMONIAL: Good work on the letter re the DIRA question, Annelies. Refreshing to get a simple, concise legal opinion rather than a verbose commentary that puts a foot in each camp and doesn’t actually form an opinion.

CLIENT: Grant Bargrove
COMPANY/FIRM: Begg’s Music
TESTIMONIAL: I recently engaged Anthony Harper in relation to some taxation advise followed by liaison with the IRD. I was referred to the specialist in this area, Bridget Riley. Bridget was quickly able to assess and advise on a number of complex issues and explain in a manner that I was able to fully understand. I would highly recommend Bridget as a competent professional. She is thorough but also very easy to communicate with.”
