The firm's legal team comprises 62 fee earners, including 22 female fee earners and 40 male fee earners, reflecting a broad range of perspectives and experiences across our practice areas.

Developing future talent remains a key focus. We currently have five trainee solicitors progressing through our training programme, with further trainee appointments planned as part of our continued investment in the next generation of lawyers. Through structured training, mentoring and hands-on experience, we provide clear pathways for career progression at every stage of professional development.

The Sherrards Training Academy

The Sherrards Training Academy forms an important part of our long-term recruitment and development strategy. Through our trainee and paralegal programmes, we support individuals at the beginning of their legal careers, providing practical experience, mentoring and structured development opportunities designed to help them progress within the profession.

Several members of the Academy have successfully progressed into qualified solicitor roles within the firm, demonstrating our commitment to developing and retaining talent over the long term.

Apprenticeships and Alternative Routes to Qualification

Sherrards remains committed to widening access to professional careers and supporting alternative routes into the workplace. While we no longer offer legal apprenticeships, we continue to provide apprenticeship opportunities across our business services teams, giving talented individuals the chance to gain practical experience, develop their skills and work towards recognised qualifications.

Through the Sherrards Academy, we provide structured professional development opportunities for colleagues at every stage of their careers. From trainees and junior lawyers through to senior associates, partners and business services professionals, the Academy promotes continuous learning, mentoring and knowledge sharing, supporting both personal development and long-term career progression.
