Our China practice group has handled China-related matters since the early 1990s, with our firm establishing a Beijing office in 1998 and a Shanghai office in 2005. For more than three decades, we have maintained a strong and continuous commitment to supporting clients with matters involving China.

The group comprises Japanese attorneys, Chinese lawyers and patent attorneys, paralegals, translators, and other specialists based in Tokyo, Osaka, Beijing and Shanghai. We offer comprehensive legal services covering a wide range of areas, including inbound investments (such as acquisitions by Japanese companies), business restructuring and market-exit strategies in China, as well as compliance issues such as antitrust, data governance (including personal information protection), intellectual property, and labour relations.

In recent years, we have also advised on trade regulations related to economic security and US-China tensions. Additionally, we represent clients in numerous dispute-resolution matters involving Chinese counterparties.
