Career

Lee-Kyung Kim is an attorney at Kim & Chang who handles cases in the areas of construction & engineering disputes, corporate & M&A litigation, criminal defense litigation, bank & securities & finance litigation, discrimination and harassment.

Prior to joining Kim & Chang in 2023, Ms. Kim served as a judge in the Korean judiciary system for 16 years. During her tenure, she gained extensive experience in a wide range of civil, criminal, administrative and insolvency litigations. While spending three years as a judge at the Seoul Central District Court, she specially developed expertise in insolvency and restructuring litigations. During her time at the Supreme Court of Korea as a research judge, Ms. Kim experienced a wide range of cases related to insolvency and restructuring, M&A, privacy, trust and finance litigations.

She has authored many articles and publications in various fields including insolvency law, commercial law and gender law. She served as a coordinator of the arbitration committee under Korea Medical Dispute Meditation and Arbitration Agency, a member of Construction Appraisal Practice Improvement Committee under The National Court Administration and was in charge of grievance handling and gender sensitivity education in the court as the head of the education research team of the Gender Law Research Society.
