Ruth is a Partner and the Partner-in-Charge of Aberdein Considine’s highly regarded Family Law team.With over 25 years of exclusive experience in family law, she is known for her empathetic approach, strategic insight, and ability to guide clients through challenging situations with confidence and understanding.Throughout her career, Ruth has advised on the full spectrum of family law matters, including complex financial provision and child-related issues. She is particularly experienced in high-net-worth cases involving business interests, where her commercial awareness and attention to detail ensure clients receive advice that is both practical and solution-focused.Accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as both a Specialist in Family Law and a Family Law Mediator, Ruth is also a qualified Collaborative Lawyer. Ruth is an active proponent of alternative methods of dispute resolution in family cases but is also an accomplished litigator, dealing with cases both in the Sheriff Court and the Court of Session.

Danny Anderson

Danny Anderson is a Partner in our Corporate & Business Advisory team, based at the firm’s Blenheim House office in Aberdeen.Since joining Aberdein Considine in 2016, Danny has built a strong reputation for his commercial awareness, deal-making expertise and client-focused approach.He acts for a wide range of corporate clients across various sectors, with a particular focus on SMEs and owner-managed businesses. Karl Brown

Karl is a Partner in Aberdein Considine's Family Law department, based in Aberdeen. He is a member of the Scottish Family Law Association and primarily deals with a mixed case load of matrimonial and family law cases. He also has extensive experience in dealing with all child-related matters.

Laura Browne

Laura is a Partner in Aberdein Considine’s Lender Services Practice Group, specialising in complex mortgage disputes, property litigation, and professional negligence claims.She acts for leading UK lenders, providing strategic advice on volume recovery, risk management, and key projects.With over 20 years’ experience in lender services, Laura has a wealth of expertise in pursuing and defending claims on behalf of banks, building societies, debt purchasers, mortgage servicers, and other financial institutions. She joined Aberdein Considine in 2018, having previously been a senior associate at Ascent Performance Group, and is recommended by the Legal 500 for her work in banking litigation.

Leonie Burke

Leonie Burke is a Partner at Aberdein Considine and works from the firm’s Multrees Walk, Edinburgh office.Leonie joined Aberdein Considine in 2019 and has specialised in family law for 25 years. Chris is a Partner in the firm’s flagship property office in Union Street, specialising in property law but also advising clients on all aspects of private client matters including Wills, Trusts and Executries.

Laura Considine

Laura is the Partner in charge of Aberdein Considine's Stonehaven office, dealing with property, Wills and private client work. Laura also advises commercial clients in relation to conveyancing for residential developments.

Michael Currie

Michael is a Partner in our Corporate and Business Advisory Team, based in Glasgow.He is dual qualified as a solicitor in Scotland and in England & Wales, allowing him to advise clients on cross-border corporate matters throughout the UK.Michael specialises in general corporate advisory and transactional work across a wide range of sectors, including financial services, accountancy and SME or owner-managed businesses. He provides practical, commercially focused advice to help clients achieve their strategic and business objectives.

Isabelle Douglas

Isabelle is a Partner in the Family Law team, specialising in divorce, financial issues arising from separation and child related matters. She also regularly advises clients who are contemplating cohabitation and marriage on how to best protect their assets.

Elaine Elder

Elaine is a Partner in the firm’s Dispute Resolution team and is based in our Blenheim House office in Aberdeen.She trained with the firm, gaining experience in contentious matters including professional negligence, commercial debt recovery (in Scotland), insolvency and landlord and tenant disputes.She developed her knowledge on commercial contracts and corporate law when working in-house as Legal Counsel. Latterly, she has focused on complex recoveries in relation to business and commercial debt. Elaine is an experienced advocate and negotiator, regularly appearing in the Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland in relation to complex substantive hearings and acting for multi-national clients.Elaine is thorough in her approach and has an aptitude for obtaining the best possible outcome for clients.

Ryan Fox

Ryan is a Partner specialising in wills, trusts and executries, as well as providing advice on a wide range of private client matters including estate administration, tax planning and asset protection.Ryan trained with Aberdein Considine after studying at the University of Aberdeen. He qualified in 2008 and became a Partner in 2016.

Charlie Fraser

Charlie is a Partner, based in Perth, dealing with private client matters with interest in family law. (Instructed solicitor in landmark case of Watt v Watt). Leads business development for the firm and is an anti-money laundering reporting officer. Charlie also oversees the running of our Perth Estate Agents and Dundee Estate Agents

Nicola Gray

Nicola Gray is a Partner at Aberdein Considine and is based in the firm’s Blenheim House office in Aberdeen.She joined the firm in 2020 and is respected for clear, commercially informed counsel and a solutions-focused approach to employment law.Nicola advises both employers and employees on a wide range of employment issues, with particular expertise in contracts and service agreements, corporate support, TUPE transfers, tribunal representation and business immigration. She regularly drafts and negotiates contractual terms, assists organisations with transfers of undertakings and represents clients at tribunal hearings, focusing on effective, commercially sound outcomes that protect clients’ interests.Nicola holds an LLB (Hons) with options in Accountancy, a Diploma in Legal Practice and a Postgraduate Diploma in Employment Law Practice. She is Signet accredited in Employment Law and is ranked in Chambers and Partners.

Karen Harvie

Karen Harvie is a Senior Associate at Aberdein Considine and is based in the firm’s Multrees Walk office in Edinburgh.She joined the firm in 2018 and is recognised for tenacious advocacy and meticulous case preparation.She assists clients with complex legal disputes and regularly represents clients before regulatory bodies and panels. Karen also specialises in English tribunal work and has developed particular expertise in employment issues affecting the housing sector. In addition, she provides corporate support and acts for businesses in the hospitality industry, helping organisations navigate employment-related challenges and compliance matters.

Robert Holland

Robert Holland is a Partner and Head of Employment Law at Aberdein Considine, based in the firm’s Multrees Walk office in Edinburgh.Since joining Aberdein Considine, he has built a reputation for pragmatic, commercially minded advice and clear, client-focused advocacy.He acts for a broad range of clients, assisting with all aspects of employment law for both individuals and organisations, with a particular focus on senior executives, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and charity boards. Whether advising on routine workplace matters or on complex tribunal and contractual disputes, he combines technical legal expertise with a practical focus on outcomes, helping clients to understand not just the legal position but the commercial implications and next steps.Robert also leads the firm’s Sports Law department and is partner responsible for the charity function, supporting sports organisations and charities on governance, regulatory and transactional issues. Paul is an Associate in the firm’s Stirling office, overseeing the estate team and dealing with sales and purchases.He is an honours graduate of the University of Aberdeen and specialises in a range of areas including all aspects of conveyancing.

Paul Jennings

Paul is a consultant based at our Waterloo Street office in Glasgow.With over 30 years of experience, he advises clients across all areas of commercial development and investment, with particular expertise in the acquisition, development and letting of office space. His work also spans housebuilding, planning, real estate finance, retail and leisure.He joined Aberdein Considine in 2014 to establish the firm’s legal presence in Glasgow, bringing extensive experience from his previous roles as Head of Commercial Real Estate at Anderson Strathern and Managing Partner at boutique Scottish real estate firm Bell & Scott..

Jacqueline Law

Jacqueline became Managing Partner of Aberdein Considine in 2014, more than two decades after first joining the firm as a trainee lawyer. Since taking over the day-to-day running of the firm, she has led it to consecutive years of record turnover and has overseen four acquisitions which allowed the firm to expand in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling and Newcastle and trade in England and Wales for the first time. In 2025 Jacqueline spearheaded Aberdein Considine’s conversion to Limited Liability Partnership from a traditional partnership model, and oversaw a refreshed brand identity for the firm. A specialist in oil and gas and marine law, Jacqueline is a Legal 500-recommended Commercial Lawyer and has worked with some of her clients for over two decades. She has a broad range of corporate and commercial experience, mainly in the SME oil service sector, dealing with acquisitions and disposals, management buy-outs/buy-ins, group restructuring and commercial contracts. Her experience also includes major fleet purchase transactions and refinancing deals for offshore support vessel owners and operators.

James MacKinnon

James is a Partner and Head of Private Client for Edinburgh. He joined the Firm in 2018 after spending thirteen years with a leading Private Client firm in Edinburgh.James provides clients with tax efficient solutions in passing wealth on to future generations, both in lifetime and on death. He specialises in all aspects of the formation, administration and termination of trusts, including providing expert advice on the legal and tax implications of the use of trusts in succession planning and asset protection. James also deals with the administration of estates and has a particular interest in finding solutions for clients where matters are complex or contentious - and also advises on care fees planning for elderly and vulnerable clients.James’ guidance on the implications of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) on trustees was adopted by the Law Society of Scotland and he continues to provide guidance to trustees, including charitable trustees, of their reporting obligations under the Common Reporting Standard (CRS). He also provides training for businesses and practitioners on the impact of FATCA and CRS. He is a member of STEP and serves as secretary on their Scottish Branch Committee. James has also tutored on the Private Client Course of the Diploma of Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh.

Lindsey McDiarmid

Lindsey is an Associate in Aberdein Considine’s Legal 500-recommended Commercial Real Estate team, based in Aberdeen.She advises clients across a range of sectors on commercial property matters, including acquisitions and disposals, commercial leasing (acting for both landlords and tenants), development projects, site assembly and refinancing transactions.Lindsey joined the firm in 2017 as a student placement before completing her traineeship with the firm and qualifying into the Commercial Real Estate team. Paul McIntosh

Paul McIntosh is a Partner in Aberdein Considine’s Legal 500-recommended Banking Litigation team.He specialises in professional negligence claims for lender clients, providing strategic advice and representation in complex litigation matters.After training at Simpson and Marwick, Paul spent almost six years with Dundas and Wilson’s Contentious Construction department, acting for employers across the utilities, transport, and public sectors. He joined Aberdein Considine in 2012 and has since focused exclusively on professional negligence work for banks, building societies, and other financial institutions.

Marianne McJannett

Marianne is a Partner in our Glasgow office. She advises businesses on aligning employment contracts, policies and procedures with current legal standards, ensuring documentation reflects each organisation’s culture and commercial objectives.Marianne guides employers through restructures and business reorganisations, providing pragmatic, commercially minded support at every stage. In addition to her employer-side work, she regularly negotiates exit packages and advises individuals on settlement agreements, helping clients to understand their rights and the practical effect of post-termination restrictions on future career opportunities.Marianne holds an LLB and a Diploma in Legal Practice and is a Law Society of Scotland Accredited Specialist. Euan McSherry

Euan is a Partner in Charge of Aberdein Considine's Dispute Resolution team and provides litigation advice to clients in the retail, food and banking sectors throughout Scotland. He specialises in commercial & corporate and property; and corporate crime. A growing area of his practice is advising clients on reputation management. Euan is a Solicitor Advocate with rights of audience in the Court of Session and the Supreme Court when it sits as the highest court of appeal in Scottish civil cases. He regularly represents clients in courts, arbitrations and mediations. Euan has achieved a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) mediation accreditation and is the first and only Scottish lawyer to be listed on the Register of RICS Accredited Mediators.Euan is an accredited commercial litigator who is ranked for Dispute Resolution and Real Estate Litigation by the leading legal directories. According to market commentators, he is a "sharp litigator".Outside of the office, Euan tutors on the Civil Court Practice course on the Postgraduate Diploma at Edinburgh University; and recently became a dad for the second time.

David Orr

David is a Partner in Aberdein Considine’s Commercial Real Estate team, based in Glasgow.With over 15 years of experience, he advises clients across all areas of commercial property work and has particular expertise in real estate investment and finance.Recommended by the Legal 500, David trained in Glasgow and gained experience with several of Scotland’s leading commercial firms before joining Aberdein Considine in 2012.His recent work includes advising on the investment acquisition of an industrial park in Glenrothes on behalf of an English local authority, the multi-million-pound refinance of a hotel and leisure complex, and the management of a major plc retailer’s Scottish property portfolio. He has also acted for the Bank of Scotland plc on the re-gear of its Scottish branch network.

Gemma Perfect

Anthony Quin

Having practised in Stirling since 1985, Anthony is one of the firm’s all-rounders, with considerable experience of all aspects of private client work, including domestic and commercial conveyancing, Wills and executries and also civil court work, including family matters, employment, accident claims and title disputes.In acting for a number of generations of families over the years, as well as advising many local businesses, trusts and farming families, his all round experience enables him to take full account of the bigger picture and personally deal with the many different aspects of the legal issues encountered by his clients.Out of the office and having only recently stepped down from coaching junior endurance athletes at the local athletics club he remains an Honorary Life Member of the club as well as enjoying cycling and trying to enjoy playing golf.

Gary specialises in conveyancing and property law but also advises clients on all aspects of private client matters including Wills, Trusts and Executries. Gary became a Partner in the firm in 2013.

Michael Sinclair

Michael is one of the Aberdein Considine's Senior Property Partners and oversees the firm's estate agency and lettings operations across Scotland.Having joined the firm in 1984, Michael payed a fundamental role in growing the business from a provincial north-east firm to a multi-jurisdictional partnership with 19 offices across Scotland and the north of England.Michael is also a full-time member of the firm's Management Committee, which oversees the day-to-day running of the business.

Leanne Warrender

Leanne is a Partner, based across the firm’s Blenheim and Waterloo offices.She oversees the firm’s centralised conveyancing units in Aberdeen and Glasgow, which handle around 500 transactions each month, and is responsible for driving efficiencies and digital innovation within the conveyancing process. Leanne is also a member of the firm's Management Committee. She specialises in conveyancing and property law, including sales, purchases, remortgages and transfers of title. Leanne joined Aberdein Considine in 2015 and, prior to leading the centralised conveyancing hubs, advised clients in the busy Union Street office. She is also a Notary Public.

Nicola Watson

Nicola is a Partner in our Family Law team, based in Glasgow. With over a decade of experience specialising exclusively in family law, she is recognised for her empathetic yet pragmatic approach, offering clients clear, concise and practical advice during what can often be a difficult time.She acts for a broad range of clients, providing support that is tailored to each client’s individual circumstances. Nicola advises on all aspects of family law, including child residence and contact disputes, relocation, divorce, and separation agreements. She has extensive experience in dealing with financial matters arising from divorce and regularly prepares pre-nuptial, post-nuptial and cohabitation agreements. Nicola is a respected litigator and has acted in a number of international child abduction cases under the Hague Convention, representing both claimants and defendants.Nicola is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as Specialist in Family Law and as a Family Mediator. Ross Webb

Ross is a Partner in Aberdein Considine's Dispute Resolution team.With over 15 years of experience, he advises clients on complex high value matters in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland, in the Court of Session and where appropriate, using alternative dispute resolution forms such as arbitration, adjudication and mediation. He is also often sought out to provide strategic dispute avoidance advice at an early stage to help better manage client risk.Ross specialises in commercial and contractual disputes, providing specialist advice to insolvency practitioners, company directors and creditors, property litigation, and commercial debt recovery in Scotland. Regularly acting for clients who range from insolvency practitioners and public limited companies to limited companies, partnerships and family businesses. Often with a cross-border/overseas element.Ross is recognised by the legal directories for his work in Commercial Litigation, Insolvency & Corporate Restructuring, Property Litigation and Commercial Debt Recovery.
