Howard is a partner and founder of Phillips Law with 40 years’ experience as a Solicitor. For over 30 years he has also served as a Deputy District Judge (“DDJ”) on the Western Circuit, whilst maintaining his practice within Phillips Law.

Extensive judicial experience and a Section 8 children ticket, gives Howard a powerful edge that few lawyers can claim. His clients are able to trust entirely in his knowledge of the court, the law, and the way that evidence is most likely to play out in Court.

Predominately Howard focuses on complex and higher-value family work, usually involving financial matters arising out of divorce, separation, and children-related issues.

Howard also concentrates part of his practice on civil and commercial litigation, partnership disputes and professional negligence, often appearing in the higher Courts.

He is a powerful advocate but with an ability to sensitively mediate difficult conversations when appropriate. His clients appreciate his compassion in the most painful of circumstances.

Howard also takes instructions as a mediator (and is a former mediation trainer) in family, civil and commercial cases.
