Eliza is a highly accomplished litigation specialist with rare 360-degree expertise advising key stakeholders across complex disputes.

Eliza spent 11 years at Ashurst LLP, most recently as a Senior Associate, providing both claimants and defendants with legal and strategic advice. She has worked on some of the most complex and high-value disputes in the market at that time. Her practice spanned a wide range of sectors including construction, energy, transport, infrastructure, product liability and professional services. This extensive and lengthy private practice experience means she grasps readily the nuances of a dispute as it develops, allowing valuable insight into case strategy for its stakeholders.

Looking for a more commercial role, Eliza joined a leading litigation funder, where she spent three years as a senior Investment Manager. In that role, she was responsible for the strategic oversight and monitoring of a substantial portfolio of funded claims, assessing merits, risk profile and case progression, and working closely with legal teams to protect and optimise the funder’s investment. In this role Eliza also advised investors and regularly sat on the Investment Committee.

Five years ago, Eliza joined Litica, a leading ATE and litigation insurance provider, to manage its growing book of risk. She has grown a Case Management team there that immerse themselves in the on-risk cases as they evolve, advising the business and its insurers as required and driving sophisticated risk mitigation strategies where appropriate.

Eliza’s comprehensive range of disputes experience, combining deep technical litigation/arbitration expertise with commercial judgment and a funder- and insurer-side perspective, marks her out as a unique practitioner in the disputes market and makes her an invaluable addition to any funding solution, for stakeholders and claimants alike.
