Elena Xanthopoulou is an associate at Lamnidis Law specialising in energy law, with particular focus on renewable energy projects, electricity market regulation and energy transactions.

She advises clients on regulatory and commercial matters in the Greek electricity market, including licensing procedures, market participation, regulatory compliance and the evolving framework governing renewable energy and electricity trading. Her experience includes advising on the licensing and transfer of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) Aggregator licences and regulatory matters relating to participation in the Day-Ahead Market, Intraday Market and Balancing Market.

Elena is actively involved in renewable energy transactions, including virtual Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), mergers and acquisitions in the energy sector and corporate transformations of energy project companies.

She works closely with key energy market institutions and regulatory authorities, including the Regulatory Authority for Waste, Energy and Water (RAAEY), the Hellenic Energy Exchange (HENEX), the Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO) and the Renewable Energy Sources Operator (DAPEEP), advising clients on compliance with market rules and regulatory requirements.

In addition to energy regulatory and transactional work, she advises on corporate law matters and has experience in debt restructuring and settlement agreements, as well as in real estate matters, including cadastral corrections and property-related disputes.

Her practice focuses on energy law, renewable energy projects, electricity market regulation, energy transactions and regulatory compliance.
