Career

Patricia is a lawyer specialized in Intellectual Property, Media, and Entertainment Law, with more than 20 years of experience advising the creative industries. Her practice focuses on the legal and business realities of audiovisual production—helping producers, studios, platforms, and talent navigate copyright, image rights, chain of title, licensing, and the contractual architecture behind film and television projects.

Over the past two decades, Patricia has advised national and international cinema and television productions across Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, France, Mexico, Argentina, Panama, the United States, and Spain, among other jurisdictions. She is particularly known for guiding Colombian producers working on behalf of, or in association with, international channels and partners, aligning local production needs with global commissioning standards and delivery requirements.

Patricia also played a pioneering role in Colombia’s audiovisual incentives ecosystem. She advised the first producer to apply for the Certificate of Audiovisual Investment (CINA) before PROIMÁGENES and has remained closely involved in the evolution of the incentives and benefits framework for audiovisual investment in Colombia—supporting clients from structuring and eligibility analysis through documentation and execution.

In addition to transactional and advisory work, Patricia is a renowned trial attorney in entertainment-related disputes, representing clients in copyright, image rights, and media matters before ordinary courts and arbitration tribunals. This litigation experience strengthens her day-to-day counsel by ensuring contracts, clearances, and rights strategies are built to withstand real-world conflict.

For several years, Patricia led a highly reputed boutique firm specialized in Media and Entertainment Law, which merged in 2020 with MBCR, now known as Veria Asesores. Today, Veria has consolidated as Colombia’s leading Media and Entertainment practice, with more than 100 audiovisual projects in its portfolio—bringing together deep industry knowledge, production experience, and a practical, solution-oriented approach.
