Position

Simon Rolin joined the firm in 2019 and has since played an instrumental role in the development of its litigation and advisory practice particularly in relation to the primary art market and artists’ estate planning. He became Partner in 2026.

Career

Expertise

Simon Rolin combines strong technical expertise across several areas of law (copyright, civil, tax, institutional structuration, etc.) and a sharp understanding of the operational, contractual and cross-border issues faced by players in the art market in France and abroad, incluging international artistic projects in the Gulf region.

His practice covers a broad range of advisory and contentious work for artists, artists’ estates, galleries and institutions, with a growing focus on matters at the intersection of art, design, architecture and publishing.

Simon is actively engaged in the institutional and intellectual life of the cultural sector. He is an executive board member of the Consortium Museum in Dijon and regularly contributes to leading specialist publications (Le Quotidien de l’Art, La Gazette Drouot).

Teaching

Simon is also involved in teaching and professional training. He lectures in art market law as part of the Master’s programme in Art Market Law at Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 and regularly delivers training sessions for professionals across the art, design, publishing and cultural sectors.
