She has acquired a wide range of experience in advisory works and financing transactions by acting for multinational banks as well as borrowers on instructions from international law firms. Ankusha’s experience includes advice on regulatory issues, drafting and negotiating loan and finance agreements, taking security in Mauritius, release of security, enforcement of security and giving structural and legal advice in relation to financing transactions. She has gained experience in the structuring and establishment of funds, fund investments and fund financing. Ankusha is also experienced in legal due diligence and drafting of a wide range of commercial agreements.

Annabelle Ribet
Senior Associate Annabelle is a Senior Associate Barrister, her practice covers all aspects of corporate and commercial law, data protection and immigration laws. She provides legal advice and assistance throughout all the stages of the corporate life, including corporate formation, corporate governance matters and carrying-out due diligence exercises in cases of M&A. She has acquired extensive expertise in drafting and advising on a wide range of domestic and foreign law governed commercial agreements as well as compliance-related issues. Annabelle has strong experience in advising clients across a wide range of industries (including technology, finance, healthcare and retail) on data protection matters and compliance frameworks. From the drafting of policies and procedure to conducting gap analysis exercises and issuing legal opinions, she has also been offering training sessions and workshops for corporate clients providing practical insights into evolving data protection regulations and best practices. Annabelle has also a very keen interest in real estate and environmental laws, and has been advising several clients over the last years.

He has previously practised as a barrister-at-law for a Mauritius based chambers and as an associate for a Mauritius based law firm. His practice primarily covers aspects of corporate and commercial law with a particular focus on financial services and banking and finance. Emmanuel has advised and assisted various local and international corporate entities. He has acquired experience in the drafting of and advising on various domestic and foreign law governed commercial agreements as well as security agreements. It included service agreements, loan and finance agreements, licensing agreements, employment agreements and lease agreements. Emmanuel has a keen interest in the fintech and emerging technologies sector.

Partner Khemila Narraidoo advises on the full spectrum of business planning. She regularly advises local and international clients on corporate as well as regulatory issues. Her experience includes all manner of private share and business acquisitions / disposals, private equity, group reorganisations and joint ventures.  Khemila has extensive experience in carrying out due diligence process in cases of mergers and acquisitions as well as issuing of shares. She also regularly issues capacity opinions for international banks in relation to loan facilities. Khemila heads the Insurance practice and has extensive experience in the interpretation of insurance and re-insurance contracts. She regularly advises leading insurance companies on specific provisions of their insurance policies (basis of indemnity and sum insured) and on articles of the Mauritian Civil Code (which are French law inspired) including articles 1983-54 et seq. (Les assurances contre l’incendie) and 1983-69. Khemila also advises on employment law and her clients range from Mauritian conglomerates to international companies. She regularly chairs disciplinary committees and acts in relation to employment litigation and disputes resolution before the Supreme Court of Mauritius, the Industrial Court of Mauritius and the Conciliation and Mediation Commission. Khemila specialises in Arbitration & Regulatory practices. Khemila is also a member of the MCCI Arbitration & Mediation Centre and is an accredited mediator. As a trial lawyer, Khemila advises on issues involving arbitration as well as mediation, among other alternative mechanisms for the settlement of disputes. He was also the first Enforcer of Global Finance Mauritius (GFM). Partner Roobesh heads the litigation department of Juristconsult Chambers. He acts as Counsel for both domestic and international clients in high value and high stakes corporate and commercial disputes as well as in contentious insolvency matters. He is instructed by a wide client-base, which includes individuals, domestic and global business companies, and trusts amongst others. Roobesh also appears regularly before the Designated Judges of the Supreme Court in matters falling under the International Arbitration Act and the Convention for the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards Act, namely in applications for the enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards. He is regularly appointed by major clients to advise on litigation arising out of complex transactions and business arrangements and frequently acts on major corporate/shareholder disputes and breach of contract cases.
