Arias, Abrego & Lopez is a Panamanian firm founded in 2011, concentrated in corporate, transactional, private wealth and regulatory law. We advise companies and corporate groups operating or investing in Panama and across the region, and the families behind them.

Our work centres on companies establishing, expanding or reorganising operations in Panama: regional groups, mid-market international companies and growing family businesses. Every matter is led by a partner, from start to finish. Our practice was built where law meets the business decision: the team trained in Panama, Europe and the United States, with an LLM in Banking and Financial Law from Boston University, executive finance education at Chicago Booth and business administration for lawyers at INCAE, among other institutions.

Corporate and M&A. Ranked by The Legal 500 in Panama. We advise on mergers, acquisitions, capitalisations, debt issuances, financings and corporate governance reorganisations. We have led the establishment and national expansion of multinational operations, cross-border acquisitions for local and international groups, and capital raises involving international financial institutions. Our clients operate in retail, real estate, tourism, construction, logistics, food and beverage, insurance, financial services and technology.

Real estate. Ranked by The Legal 500 in Panama. The practice covers project structuring, due diligence, financing, and the acquisition and disposal of development and income-producing assets, including private and public real estate investment trusts. We act for developers, investors and lenders from origination through delivery, and in real estate disputes.

Employment, immigration and regulatory. We advise companies on the management of their workforce and their regulated operations: employment relations and disputes, hiring of foreign personnel, visas and residency permits, and the health, operating and immigration authorisations on which business continuity depends. We act for clients in energy, healthcare, retail, construction and services, with over a decade of continuous practice in the field and specialist training sponsored by the International Labour Organization.

Family business and private wealth. We structure the governance and succession of the family groups we advise: separating family assets from the operating business, family protocols, private interest foundations and fiduciary structures, with vehicles in Panama, the British Virgin Islands, Belize, the Bahamas and Nevis.
