The firm: Established for over a century in the East London and Essex area, Mullis & Peake LLP Solicitors is committed to providing trustworthy expert advice tailored to meet each client’s individual needs. Its heritage is built upon close family and business ties and a progressive, candid approach to its work.
Mullis & Peake was founded in 1902 by Fred Mullis. He was joined by his nephew, Lewis Peake, in 1919; this was the start of the Mullis & Peake partnership. The firm continued to expand through three generations. Mr Peake’s daughter, Daisy Peake, joined the firm in 1937. Mullis & Peake was a truly pioneering firm of the times; Daisy was only the 33rd female lawyer in the country.

The firm has around 40 legal practitioners of varying levels of seniority and experience. Senior members of the firm are members of the Law Society’s Personal Injury and Family Law Panels. Samantha Hamilton, head of the firm’s Court of Protection department, is one of only a few Court of Protection panel deputies nationwide.

In July 2023 we were pleased to join with Wells Solicitors and open a new office in Upminster in Suite 5, Essex House, 15 Station House, Upminster, RM14 2SJ.
