Career

Cristina is an established lawyer in Latin America with exceptional experience of infrastructure contracts as well as concession and public-private partnerships (PPP), corporate M&A and financial negotiations. After a long career spanning some 27 years in the public sector, with the State of São Paulo including her time as former Deputy Attorney General (Procurador Geral do Estado Adjunto) she established her own practice as an independent arbitrator in 2020.

Cristina is regularly appointed as an arbitrator and as chair in Latin American disputes relating to contracts involving construction, energy, road concessions, subways, real estate operations and corporate issues arising in private and state-owned companies with recent experience including arbitrations under the ICC, CAM-CCBC, CAM/B3, CAMARB, CIESP/FIESP, and AMCHAM rules.

Cristina is a bilingual certified Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is currently the chair of CIArb Brazil Branch. She is a member of the CAM/B3, CAM-CCBC, CIESP/FIESP, CAMARB, CBMA, ARBITAC, Shanghai Arbitration Commission – SAC and Court of Arbitration for Art – CafA, and VIAC panels. Cristina speaks Portuguese, English, German and working knowledge of Spanish.

Cristina is also a member of Brazilian Bar Association (OAB), Comitê Brasileiro de Arbitragem (CBar), Instituto Brasileiro do Direito da Construção (IBDiC Board), Infrawomen Brazil/IWB – Member of the Advisory Committee, AmCham Board member and actively contributes to the Working Group DIS-CAM-CCBC as co-chair of Brazil and known for her recent publication State-Owned Enterprises: Legal Regime and Practical Experience under Federal Law.
