About

Founded in 2001, Estrella & Tupete has built a track record on some of the most complex and high-value transactions in the Dominican Republic, with offices in Santiago, Santo Domingo, and Punta Cana. The firm advises energy companies, financial institutions, foreign investors, and business development groups across the Dominican Republic and the wider Caribbean, known for its innovative and dynamic approach and its adherence to rigorous legal and business standards.

The firm's team of skilled professionals excels in delivering tailored solutions, spotting new opportunities, and crafting strategies that meet client needs. Its practice extends beyond routine legal management to strategic advice on plans, projects, and high-value operations aligned with the latest global trends.

Estrella & Tupete has played a central, hands-on role in several of the country's most ambitious infrastructure and energy initiatives. It serves as lead legal structurer and advisor for Manzanillo Power Land, one of the most ambitious energy initiatives in the Dominican Republic and the wider Caribbean, and has been instrumental in the comprehensive development of the province of Montecristi, including the structuring and establishment of the Montecristi International Airport, the Montecristi Marina, a natural gas terminal, a gas pipeline, a museum, and several hotel projects across the Manzanillo and Montecristi areas. The firm's project portfolio further includes the hotel development of Pedernales alongside Holiday Inn, the Río San Juan Airport, and a rare earth minerals exploration project.

On the renewable energy front, the firm's practice is particularly active in the photovoltaic power sector, having advised multinational clients on the development of several solar parks in the country, including La Victoria, El Soco, Mata de Palma I, and Mata de Palma II. More broadly, the firm has played a key advisory role in major national projects, including conventional and renewable energy plants, large-scale transmission lines, and environmental authorisation processes for tourism and infrastructure developments. In the real estate and tourism space, the team assists major developers, construction companies, and hospitality brands, structuring investments, evaluating environmental impacts, and advising on project financing.

This breadth of experience has positioned Estrella & Tupete as a trusted partner for multinational corporations, foreign investors, governments, and public institutions seeking to structure complex transactions and high-impact strategic projects in the Dominican market. The firm was also the first Dominican law firm to earn the ISO 9001:2008 international quality certification, later upgrading to ISO 9001:2015, reflecting its long-standing commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

The Firm has a diverse client portfolio including both individuals and businesses, domestic and international, and offers a comprehensive range of services covering all aspects of legal and business matters.
