Founder and Managing Partner of Carter Bond Solicitors, Reena Popat has 15 years of corporate commercial experience and has worked on a variety of significant M&A transactions, both UK and cross-border. She has built long-term relationships with clients including private companies, investment funds and management teams, and has helped with their joint venture strategies and ongoing corporate advice.

Recent work examples include:

Instructed by Valary Hotels Ltd on two acquisitions to purchase Hilton hotels in Warwick and Leicester. Multiple pharmacy share purchases and acquisitions of pharmacies and associated premises / property freeholds for group pharmacy companies, with values ranging from £160,000 to over £3 million. Sole UK counsel for the multi-million-pound sale of Pulse Power and Measurement Limited to BAE Systems. De-enveloping of an offshore company structure with a share for share swap.

Reena joined Spearing Waite Solicitors as a trainee solicitor in July 2005. She qualified in 2007 and joined Ashfords as a corporate solicitor, as well as the Head of India Desk. While there, her work included multi-million-pound deals, such as a US$19m offshore yacht purchase, £11m share acquisition of a UK cinema chain by an Indian-based corporate via UK NewCo and £9m share acquisition of a UK pharmaceutical company by an Indian-based corporate via UK NewCo.

Reena founded Carter Bond Solicitors in August 2014, and went on to create Carter Bond Wills & Probate in 2017.
