Position

Holly is one of the UK’s leading specialists in supporting elderly and vulnerable clients, with particular expertise in Court of Protection matters.

As head of Morr & Co’s Private Client department, Holly combines extensive legal knowledge with a deep understanding of the sensitive nature of her work.

Having qualified in 2008, Holly has developed comprehensive expertise across all aspects of private client law, with a focus on both contentious and non-contentious Court of Protection work.

Holly takes a practical, empathetic approach to supporting vulnerable clients and their families, helping them navigate complex legal situations with clarity and understanding.

Her experience includes:

Managing complex affairs for vulnerable clients

Acting as a professional deputy and attorney for vulnerable clients, managing complex financial affairs and property matters while ensuring their best interests are protected, including cases involving estates exceeding £10 million

Guiding families through court disputes

Supporting families through challenging Court of Protection proceedings, including disputed deputyship applications and contested statutory will applications involving complex family dynamics

Providing expert advice on mental capacity assessments

Advising on complex mental capacity issues, including working alongside medical professionals to ensure thorough and appropriate capacity assessments for clients with various conditions including dementia and brain injury

Managing high-value estates and business succession

Managing high-value estates and trusts for elderly clients, incorporating careful tax planning and asset protection strategies with particular expertise in business asset succession

Career

As one of the UK’s foremost experts in mental capacity law, Holly holds several prestigious appointments, including Panel Deputy and Panel Guardian. She is a founding member and director of the Professional Deputies Forum and sits on the Court of Protection Rules Committee, helping shape the future of mental capacity law.

Holly is a recognised authority in her field, having authored ‘A Practical Guide to Assessing Mental Capacity’ and co-authored both the Law Society’s Elderly Client Handbook (6th Edition) and ‘Finance & Law for the Older Client’ (LexisNexis Butterworths). She regularly shares her expertise through lectures for MBL and other professional organisations, and has been invited to speak at numerous national conferences on mental capacity and elderly client matters.

Her exceptional work has been widely recognised, including winning Surrey Law Society Private Client Lawyer of the Year three times and Surrey Lawyer of the Year. Most recently, she won ‘Lawyer of the Year’ at the Clio Modern Law Awards 2025.

She was also awarded ‘Outstanding Achievement in the Industry’ at the Probate Industry Awards 2024, with judges praising her passion for legal excellence and dedication to inspiring her team.
