Position
Vicky Athanassoglou is the Managing Partner of VAP LAW OFFICES and Head of the firm’s M&A practice. She is admitted as Attorney-at-Law before the Supreme Court of Athens and as Rechtsanwältin at the Düsseldorf Bar. She also acts as Arbitrator at the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and is an accredited mediator certified by the Hellenic Ministry of Justice and CIArb.
Career
Vicky Athanassoglou is a dually qualified lawyer in Greece and Germany, an accredited mediator and arbitrator, and Founder and Managing Partner of VAP LAW OFFICES. She founded the firm in 2012 following more than 15 years of practice at leading international law firms and specializes in International Business Law.
She advises extensively on M&A, international corporate and securities law, complex commercial contracts and arbitration, with a particular focus on cross-border transactions involving Greece and international investors. Her practice is centred on International Business Law and the structuring and execution of multinational transactions.
Vicky currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of DAV Griechenland (German Lawyers Association Greece) and Vice-Chair of the Chamber of Hellenic-Chinese Economic Cooperation. She is also a member of the Standing Scientific Committee of the Greek Ministry of Justice examining the impact of artificial intelligence on the judicial system and in the Advisory Board of the German-Greek Civil Law Association (e.V.). Previously, she served as member and Rapporteur of the Legal Committee of the Central Mediation Committee of the Greek Ministry of Justice, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic-Indian Business and Cultural Organization of Women and Vice-Chair of the Arbitration Committee of the Chamber of Hellenic-Chinese Economic Cooperation.

Vicky Athanassoglou is actively engaged in educational and community initiatives. She previously served for 12 years as Chair of the Parents’ Association of the German School of Athens and continues to support initiatives that strengthen the school’s alumni and student community. She founded the initiative DSA Connect, a mentoring and networking platform connecting alumni, students and professionals of the German School of Athens in order to support students in their academic and professional paths abroad. She is also committed to supporting women’s entrepreneurship and women’s empowerment through various professional and business networks and initiatives.
Leisure
In her leisure time, Vicky Athanassoglou enjoys travelling and reading. She is also a passionate lover of dance, having trained in ballet for more than 20 years and teaching tap dance during her student years.
