The Firm is renowned for recruiting the brightest legal minds and retaining excellent staff by providing excellent opportunities for career growth and development. Our clients’ objectives are our priority. Our lawyers therefore go the extra mile to ensure that they understand our clients’ businesses and the sectors in which they operate, to provide optimum and commercially pragmatic legal solutions. We apply our legal knowledge and commercial acumen to achieve the desired results for our clients.

ALA is a pan-African practice advising clients from across the Economic Community of West Africa (ECOWAS), the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), and other regional markets on the African Continent. In an increasingly interconnected Africa, ALA comes to the table with its international perspectives, with local and regional insights to help grow businesses and resolve various business challenges. The firm has an established reputation in advising on cross-border transactions and delivering solutions for businesses across Africa.  In line with our Pan-African practice and in our pursuit of expanding our continental and global footprint, our firm has joined forces with other law firms across Africa, establishing the Africa Law Practice International (ALPi). The ALPi now has a presence in Ghana, Nigeria, Angola, Côte d’Ivoire, Guyana, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, South Sudan, Namibia, and Mauritius. The integrated approach of this international partnership combines deep local knowledge with global expertise, enabling ALA and the broader ALPi Group to serve clients seamlessly across multiple jurisdictions in Africa.

Since the inception of ALA, we have cultivated robust international and continental networks. As an accredited member of the Commonwealth Legal Network (“CLN”) and a strategic partner of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (“CWEIC”), we engage with a wide spectrum of business and policy stakeholders across the Commonwealth, which directly enhances our capacity to serve clients with cross-border corporate and commercial interests. Our Senior Partner in recognition of his legal expertise and contribution to the Commonwealth, was recently appointed Co-Chair of the CLN. Our Managing Partner also serves as a member of the Global Advisory Board of CWEIC.

In furtherance of its multi-jurisdictional and multi-disciplinary approach, ALA also established the ALA Strategic Consult, a premier consulting firm with presence in Africa and the Caribbean dedicated to delivering strategic advisory services across various sectors beyond the traditional legal space. ALA Strategic Consult has facilitated impactful initiatives and engagements in Africa and the Caribbean, including its instrumental role in setting up the Ghana Chamber of Commerce Guyana (‘GCCG’), where our Senior Partner serves as Chair. The establishment of GCCG has positioned ALA and ALA Strategic Consult to serve clients in South America with corporate and commercial needs in Ghana and Africa. Our global partnerships, as briefly highlighted above, underscore our continued commitment to delivering comprehensive legal and consultancy services, fostering deeper collaboration, and driving innovation across diverse markets.
