Which practices do you see growing in the next 12 months? What are the drivers behind that?

I anticipate significant growth in practices related to intellectual property (IP) issues surrounding AI-generated artworks and the logistics and international trade sectors. These growth trajectories are driven by distinct yet interconnected factors shaping the contemporary legal landscape.

With advancements in artificial intelligence technology, we’re witnessing an increasing number of artworks created by AI algorithms, often utilizing vast datasets sourced from various online repositories without explicit permission. This raises complex legal questions regarding ownership, copyright, and licensing rights.

As a result, the legal frameworks governing intellectual property rights must evolve to address the unique challenges posed by AI-generated content. We anticipate heightened demand for legal expertise in navigating these intricate issues, particularly in advising artists, creators, and organizations on IP protection, licensing agreements, and copyright infringement claims in the context of AI-generated art.

Simultaneously, the logistics and international trade sectors are poised for expansion driven by global economic trends and evolving consumer preferences. The increasingly interconnected nature of global markets, coupled with advancements in technology and infrastructure, has fueled exponential growth in cross-border trade and commerce. As companies navigate this complex terrain, the demand for legal counsel adept in international trade law, customs regulations, trade compliance, and dispute resolution is expected to rise significantly.

What’s the main change you’ve made in the firm that will benefit clients?

The main change we’ve implemented for the benefit of our clients involves leveraging technology for transparent reporting and prioritizing alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods. Utilizing advanced reporting tools and platforms, we’ve streamlined communication and provided real-time updates, empowering clients with greater visibility and control over their cases.

Additionally, we’ve embraced ADR mechanisms such as mediation and arbitration to expedite dispute resolution, minimizing the time and resources typically associated with traditional litigation.

These strategic initiatives ensure that our clients receive efficient, cost-effective, and client-centered legal solutions tailored to their needs and objectives.

Is technology changing the way you interact with your clients, and the services you can provide them?

Technology has revolutionized how GLED Partners interacts with clients and improves our services. We’ve adopted new software to streamline case management, providing clients with accurate updates within minutes. Collaborations with international law firms enhance our global capabilities. Our proactive mailing system keeps clients informed of legislative changes, and virtual meeting rooms enable instant consultations despite busy schedules. By leveraging technology, we ensure efficient case handling, global reach, proactive communication, and accessible consultation, ultimately exceeding client expectations in a rapidly evolving legal landscape.

Can you give us a practical example of how you have helped a client to add value to their business?

Absolutely. One notable example of how we’ve added value to a client’s business is by adopting a strategic perspective without compromising or overlooking legal aspect of our clients’ legal disputes that resulted in significant cost savings and improved operational efficiency by conducting a comprehensive review of their existing contracts and identifying areas for optimization. We were able to renegotiate terms and conditions that better aligned with our client’s business goals. Additionally, our proactive approach to compliance and regulatory matters ensured that our client remained ahead of industry trends and changes, enabling them to adapt swiftly to market demands. Ultimately, our collaborative efforts led to tangible improvements in overall business performance.
