RATIO LEGIS is a law firm that was restructured and rebranded in 2003, evolving from its predecessor firm Barrero & Asociados. The original firm was founded in 1950 by Dr. Miguel Barrero Barrientos in Sucre, Bolivia — the constitutional capital and seat of the Judicial Branch — where the offices on Calle Abaroa continue to operate. Its legacy also includes Dr. Rafael Barrero Martínez, who established practice in La Paz in 1977. Both founders held senior governmental and judicial positions within the Republic of Bolivia.

In 2013, RATIO LEGIS expanded its operations to Paraguay with the objective of fostering investment and business relations between the two countries, positioning itself as a legal reference point for regulatory compliance and legal certainty in cross-border transactions.

Today, RATIO LEGIS also promotes specialized advisory services in Corporate Governance and Compliance, assisting corporations and businesses in proactively adapting to regulatory developments and demonstrating not only transparency, but a strong commitment to ethical business practices.
