Roberto has gained extensive experience in international and EU taxation, providing professional assistance to Italian and foreign clients.

An expert in cross-border transactions (outbound and inbound), he also assists foreign subjects and institutional investors in recovering withholding taxes incurred in Italy, representing them before the competent tax authorities during the refund process and providing assistance, where necessary, in tax litigation.

He is a speaker at various conferences and author of articles for specialist journals. He is registered with the Association of Chartered Accountants and the Register of Statutory Auditors. He’s also a qualified ESG and Sustainability Auditor.

Before joining Lawal, he worked for leading national and international law and tax firms.

As part of his previous work experience, he was seconded abroad for two years to KPMG’s EU Tax Centre, which deals with issues related to EU taxation and, in particular, the impact of Court of Justice of the European Union rulings on the tax regimes of Member States.
