Career
Ashish is the founding partner of ANB Legal, a thirteen year old full-service law firm with six offices across India and one in UAE.
With over 26 years of experience, Ashish has acted as an Arbitrator/Mediator in commercial and family disputes being appointed as an arbitrator by the parties, arbitration institutions as well as by the Hon'ble Bombay High Court. Notably, he has successfully concluded every arbitration entrusted to him without seeking an extension of the mandate in any instance - a reflection of his efficiency and commitment to timely dispute resolution.
As an arbitrator, Ashish has tried to ensure, as far as possible and practicable that there is an amicable settlement to the dispute before him with intent to bring finality to the litigation.
As an attorney, he has conducted arbitrations successfully before ad-hoc tribunals and those constituted under ICC, JAMS, SIAC, LCIA, HKIAC, and MCIA.
Ashish has headed teams on several high-profile litigations and alternate dispute resolution mechanisms, providing both pre-litigation and litigation strategy through to conclusion of the dispute. He has assisted and represented clients in numerous multi-jurisdictional disputes involving high stakes and complex issues of diverse laws.
Ashish has also acted as attorney and appeared before various fora including High Courts, Tribunals, and Hon'ble Supreme Court of India on civil and commercial matters. He has also been appointed as Amicus Curiae by the Securities Appellate Tribunal, assisting the Tribunal on complex questions of law.
Beyond dispute resolution, Ashish has a diverse practice and advises on cross border and domestic estate planning and testamentary matters, the setting up of trusts, and serves as trustee to several private trusts. He has been instrumental in numerous real estate projects across India and overseas specially pertaining to hospitality.
Ashish has also advised high profile M&A, Takeovers, Private Equity, and Media and Project Finance transactions. He has headed teams for several prestigious infrastructure projects, particularly in the ports sector.

Ashish has taught at SECMOL, Ladakh and has been instrumental in the legal cell with SEWA, Ahmedabad. He is a frequent lecturer at law colleges in Mumbai and invited to speak at various national and international platforms including the Indian Merchants' Chamber and the London School of Economics.
