LEX FLAMINGO Advises Leading Chinese Building Materials Conglomerate on EUR 24 Million Arbitration in Iran
LEX FLAMINGO is acting as legal counsel to a Fortune Global 500 corporation and one of the world’s largest building and advanced materials conglomerates, headquartered in China, in a EUR 24 Million arbitration arising from a large-scale production line project in Iran, in collaboration with a leading Chinese peer law firm. The dispute centers on payment adjustments driven by exchange rate fluctuations under Iran’s restrictive foreign currency regulations, a challenge amplified by the project’s substantial scale and by counterclaims alleging deficiencies in the delivered goods and services. LEX FLAMINGO has provided comprehensive arbitration support across multiple phases of the matter, including drafting strategic legal memoranda analyzing the parties’ contractual obligations and the applicable regulatory framework, preparing the notice of arbitration and supporting documentation, conducting extensive settlement negotiations on behalf of the client, and advising on procedural strategy. Following the breakdown of settlement discussions in 2024, the arbitration application was filed with the Arbitration Center of the Iran Chamber (ACIC) in early 2026 and has recently been served on the respondent. LEX FLAMINGO continues to advise on and manage the proceedings, overseeing case strategy, submissions, and cross-border coordination, reinforcing its capability to represent major international corporations in complex, high-value disputes within challenging regulatory environments.
