Career
Paige Vankooten brings a commercial mindset to her legal practice. She approaches mergers and acquisitions with a goal-oriented focus, committed to getting deals across the finish line without unnecessary complications or delays. Paige has a particular focus on representing middle-market clients selling their businesses in deals with values up to $80 million. She also advises middle-market clients on acquiring assets from other entities for their growing business or additional businesses for their portfolio.
Paige also has specific industry knowledge and experience in helping FedEx contractors buy and sell P&D and/or linehaul routes in the FedEx space.
She represents and advises across a wide range of industries as well as business law issues, including entity formation and structuring, contract and lease drafting and review, and day-to-day legal issues that arise as companies grow and evolve. She also guides clients through complex business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and business sales, whether via stock or membership interest sales or assets transactions. Her transactional work includes negotiating letters of intent, structuring deal terms, and drafting purchase agreements and ancillary documents for small deal sizes to large deal sizes.
Paige finds joy in building relationships and assisting people to succeed—whether that means structuring a business to thrive or removing legal stress so her clients can rest easier. Known for her responsiveness and ability to explain legal matters in clear, relatable terms, Paige takes pride in being efficient with her time. She focuses on what truly matters to her clients. She strives to be approachable, supportive, and always aligned with their goals. Paige enjoys helping clients who have worked hard to grow their business be in a position to sell their business and move onto the next chapter of their lives or conversely, helping clients expand their business and portfolio by buying new businesses.
Paige brings a strong foundation of judicial experience to her practice. She served as a judicial fellow with the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts, where she acted as a law clerk to all 370 trial court judges across the state. During law school, she also clerked at the North Carolina Business Court for both Judge Gale in Greensboro and Judge Bledsoe in Charlotte and later after law school for the Honorable Justice Barbara Jackson at the North Carolina Supreme Court.
Paige enjoys golfing, cooking, and spending time outdoors in her free time. She’s a passionate Carolina Hurricanes, Tennessee Volunteer football, and UNC basketball fan.
