Career
Antonio joined KPMG Law Mexico as a Partner in 2011 and has more than 28 years of experience in transfer pricing matters. Prior to joining KPMG, he spent eight and a half years at the Mexican Tax Administration Service (SAT), part of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, where he served for four years as Director of the Advance Pricing Agreements (APA) Program. During this period, he participated in the negotiation and issuance of more than 1,000 APAs, including over 100 bilateral agreements.
In addition, Antonio served for two and a half years as Transfer Pricing Audit Manager, leading audits involving business valuations, intangible migration, and restructuring matters. He was also responsible for developing the transfer pricing risk assessment model used for audit planning purposes.
Antonio also has more than 19 years of experience as an advisor in transfer pricing matters, assisting multinational clients with documentation, planning, defense strategies, mutual agreement procedures (MAPs), BEPS-related matters, and APAs across industries such as consumer goods, manufacturing, services, pharmaceuticals, automotive, and maquiladora operations.
Currently, Antonio is part of KPMG Law Mexico’s Tax Dispute Resolution and Controversy team and participates in the Transfer Pricing Committee of the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants.
Antonio has participated as a speaker at various forums and represented the Mexican Government before the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris. He has also acted as a consultant for the governments of Venezuela and Peru on transfer pricing matters. As an academic contributor, Antonio participated in the Transfer Pricing Diploma Program offered by the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants and served as an OECD trainer in Venezuela.
