Kipper Durth Schott

Jakob Lehners joined Kipper Durth Schott as a a criminal defence lawyer  in 2020 and became partner in 2025. He is specialised in business and white-collar crime, with extensive experience in complex and high-stakes criminal proceedings. He has a particular expertise in money laundering, asset recovery, and investigative and pre-trial detention proceedings. He is known for his pragmatic and strategic approach, advising clients in complex cases and helping them navigate challenging regulatory and criminal investigations with clarity and precision.

Prior to joining Kipper Durth Schott, Jakob Lehners worked for a year as a research associate at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law, where he gained a strong foundation in public and international law.

Jakob Lehners studied law at Heidelberg University and completed his legal clerkship (Referendariat) in Frankfurt am Main, focusing on criminal law. During this time, he worked in the dispute resolution practice of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he gained experience in complex, cross-border matters. He also spent part of his clerkship at a prominent boutique firm specialising in white-collar crime defence.
