Stefanie Schott is a partner at Kipper Durth Schott . Her practice focuses on criminal defense in white-collar and tax criminal law, representing individuals and corporate clients in complex and high-stakes proceedings.

Her expertise further extends to European and transnational criminal law, particularly extradition proceedings, as well as customs and foreign trade criminal law and sanctions law.

Stefanie Schott advises clients in German, English, Spanish and French, enabling her to act effectively in cross-border matters and international proceedings.

From 2005 to 2012, Stefanie Schott worked as a lawyer and partner at a renowned criminal law boutique in Mainz, focusing on commercial criminal law and criminal tax law. In this role, she advised and defended individuals and companies in complex white-collar and tax-related matters, combining strong technical expertise with strategic litigation experience.

Career

Stefanie Schott serves as an expert member of the Committee on European Law and the Committee on Criminal Procedure Law of the German Federal Bar (BRAK). In this capacity, she contributes to policy discussions and legislative initiatives at both national and European level.

She represents the German Federal Bar in the German delegations to the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) and the European Criminal Bar Association (ECBA). In addition, she is Vice Chair of the Criminal Law Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA), reflecting her strong international engagement in the field of criminal justice.

Stefanie Schott is the author of the commentary on tax evasion (§ 370 German Fiscal Code) in the Heidelberger Kommentar zum Steuerstrafrecht. She regularly acts as rapporteur in the context of legislative opinions at both European and national level and publishes in leading legal journals. She is also a member of the advisory board of the journal Praxis Steuerstrafrecht (PStR).

Education

Stefanie Schott studied law at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, specializing in tax law. During her studies, she broadened her international perspective through study visits to Paris, Barcelona and Cape Town. She completed her legal clerkship with placements at leading international law firms in Frankfurt and Cape Town as well as at the German University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer.
