Career

Nana Akua is a Legal Associate at WTS Nobisfields with a focus on corporate and commercial law, regulatory compliance, taxation, and dispute resolution. She advises both multinational and local clients across a broad range of industries, providing strategic legal support on corporate structuring, governance, and regulatory compliance within Ghana’s legal framework.

Her core strengths lie in corporate governance, where she manages company incorporations, corporate amendments relating to directorship and shareholding, corporate restructuring, and ongoing statutory filings. Nana Akua also performs company secretarial duties for several high-profile clients, ensuring compliance with governance protocols, filing obligations, and corporate records management.

She is actively involved in regulatory registrations and renewals with key institutions, including the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), the Ghana Data Protection Authority, and the Registrar-General’s Department. Nana Akua has handled immigration applications, including the acquisition and renewal of work and residence permits for expatriate employees.

Her experience extends to the drafting and review of commercial agreements, land documentation, and legal opinions. She has also overseen the formal registration of powers of attorney at the Lands Commission, ensuring alignment with statutory requirements and safeguarding clients’ interests in land-related transactions.

Nana Akua also previously advised on tax matters and compliance for sector-specific transactions and has supported digital service providers through regulatory licensing and operational setup. She also contributed to litigation processes, including the preparation of court pleadings and procedural documents in accordance with civil practice rules.

She previously interned at the Family and Juvenile Court, where she worked closely with judges on legal research and opinion drafting, gaining early exposure to judicial reasoning and family law procedures.

Nana Akua holds an LLB from GIMPA and a QCL from the Ghana School of Law. She is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana.
