About
Rahman & Rabbi Legal, based in Dhaka focuses on representing clients with cases involving arbitration, business law, banking and finance, corporate finance, employment and labour law, energy laws, merger and acquisitions, securities, telecommunications law, property and trust litigation. Md. Monzur Rabbi, Barrister-at-Law (Lincolns Inn, UK), Barrister of the Bar of England and Wales, and also an Advocate of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He is currently functioning as the Senior Partner and Head of Chambers of Rahman & Rabbi Legal. He is presently a Doctoral Researcher (DPhil in Law) at the University of Oxford (January 2025–Present).
He is a legal professional with over fifteen years of experience and his Areas of expertise include International Arbitration Law and Practice, Dispute Resolution including Negotiation and International Mediation, Commercial, Corporate, Telecommunications, Banking and Finance, Aviation, Power and Energy, Merger & Acquisitions, Shipping Law, International Trade and Public International Law, among others. He is an international arbitration lawyer with specialisation in international commercial and investment arbitration. Mr. Rabbi holds law degrees from Bangladesh, United Kingdom and United States of America. Upon receiving the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship from the Government of USA, he pursued an LL.M. in International Arbitration at the University of Miami School of Law, Florida, USA. He is the first—and so far, the only—lawyer from Bangladesh to have received this fully funded scholarship, awarded by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Student Scholarship Board and administered by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. He was a consultant at German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) at the project ‘Corruption Prevention Working Group’, GTZ Dhaka Office, Bangladesh. He previously worked with A Hossain & Associates, the Chambers of Mr. Ajmalul Hossain KC. He previously worked in a number of national and international arbitrations and he has the experience of appearing before international commercial arbitral tribunals. On top of that, being invited by the University of Oxford, UK, Mr. Rabbi sat as a Judge at the International Round of the 10th annual Monroe E. Price Media Law Moot Court Programme held at the University of Oxford, UK in April 2017. He has already internationally published on different aspects of law and economics. He is also a Franklin Member of London Journals Press, UK. He has already internationally published on different aspects of law and economics. He is a general member of the American Bar Association and also the Australian Mediation Association.
This set has been founded by Mr Md Mahbubor Rahman, a retired district judge and also an advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. Mr Rahman has more than 40 years of legal experience as a judge and an advocate and he is currently functioning as the advising partner of the chambers. Since its founding in January 2016, Rahman & Rabbi Legal has represented clients ranging from private individuals to small businesses and large corporations. The chambers includes barristers and advocates highly experienced in corporate-legal matters.
