Patent Attorney

Lisha Bruhn joined the patent attorneys and attorneys at law firm BDPE in October 2025. Her technical areas of expertise are in the fields of information technology, cryptography, chip card technology, security elements, automation technology, and banknote production. Prior to joining BDPE, she trained and practiced in IP at a prominent mid-size patent law firm, where she focused on patent prosecution in electrical engineering, mechanics, and computer-implemented inventions. At BDPE, she specializes in patent disputes. She holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and information technology from the South-Central University for Nationalities in China and Kyung Hee University in Seoul, South Korea. She also holds a master’s degree in practical computer science from the Fernuniversität Hagen, Germany, specialising in cryptography and automation technology. She started her career as a hardware engineer in the Mobile Security section of Giesecke + Devrient Information Technologies. She is one of the few German and European patent attorneys who is a native Chinese speaker, offering a rare combination of linguistic and cultural fluency that enables her to detect nuances in Chinese-language documents).
