Juan Matienzo

Juan Bautista Matienzo joined O’Farrell in 1996 and is a lawyer in the Litigation Department. He has worked in O’ Farrell advising several companies of various issues (contracts, tax, business affairs, guarantees). Concurrently, he was in charge of the supervision and general management of more than two thousand trials in civil, commercial, tax and contentious-administrative matters, pending before courts of the City of Buenos Aires and various provinces in Argentina. He is currently in charge of a large litigation portfolio in civil and commercial matters, pending before courts of the City of Buenos Aires and various provinces in Argentina.

Deals

  • Advising one of the shareholders of Grupo Piero on both judicial and non-judicial strategies to obtain recognition of his rights as a minority shareholder of two real estate companies.
  • Advising Barrick Gold Corporation and subsidiaries in a complex arbitration proceeding under ICC rules in connection with the termination of EPC contracts.
  • Assisting the AES Corporation in an ICSID arbitration filed against the Argentine Republic in connection with AES’s investment in several power generation companies.
