Position
Assistant Solicitor specialising in commercial litigation and all aspects of court-based dispute resolution. Kirstie adopts a holistic and client-centred approach, guiding individuals and businesses through complex legal challenges with clarity and empathy. She also supports commercial matters, including contract drafting, broadening Witan’s litigation reach across the Midlands and wider UK.
Career
Kirstie began her legal career at Witan Solicitors in 2021 as a Litigation Executive while completing her LLM in Legal Practice at BPP University. She went on to complete her training contract externally before returning to Witan as an Assistant Solicitor.
Her practice covers a broad spectrum of litigation and dispute resolution, ranging from commercial and partnership disputes through to employment tribunal claims and property litigation. Recent work highlights include:
Acting for individuals in employment disputes, securing compensation in discrimination and harassment claims, and successfully defending employers against wrongful claims.
Representing clients in property and land disputes, including contested ownership, boundary disagreements, and claims under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act (TOLATA).
Advising on family-related litigation, including financial remedy proceedings and contested powers of attorney, where she has successfully negotiated settlements and avoided costly court battles.
Handling partnership and shareholder disagreements, achieving favourable settlements through a combination of negotiation and litigation strategy.
Supporting clients in general commercial disputes, including breach of contract and debt recovery, often achieving resolution at an early stage to minimise cost and risk.
Kirstie is noted for her holistic, client-focused approach, combining technical litigation skills with an ability to explain complex legal issues in straightforward, practical terms.
