Position

At COHAUSZ & FLORACK, Dr. Henning Sternemann advises German and international companies on all aspects of industrial property rights and the protection of intellectual property rights. He is responsible for technical property rights, in particular in the fields of plasma technology, wood-based materials technology, metal processing, welding technology and other related fields. In addition to drafting patent applications, he represents his clients in national and international patent prosecution proceedings and in complex opposition and nullity proceedings.

Career

After studying physics at the TU Dortmund and obtaining his doctorate in experimental solid-state physics, Henning Sternemann began his training in intellectual property law at COHAUSZ & FLORACK in 2008. He gained experience in US patent law in a New York law firm and has since 2012 been admitted as a German patent attorney and representative before the European Patent Office. In 2012 he joined the team of COHAUSZ & FLORACK as a patent attorney and in 2016 was appointed partner of the firm.

He also holds a degree from the University of Strasbourg in European patent litigation ("D.U. Contentieux des Brevets en Europe").
