Hogan Lovells and Cadwalader advise Equitix on the investment in a second portfolio from Enpal B.V.

August 14, 2026 – Led by Frankfurt-based partner Dr. Torsten Rosenboom, the global law firm Hogan Lovells advised Cadwalader Equitix on a further investment in a second portfolio belonging to solar system provider Enpal B.V.

The portfolio—comprising residential solar systems, home storage units, and electric vehicle charging stations—was developed by Enpal, one of Germany’s leading renewable energy platforms. With this transaction, Equitix continues to pursue its growth strategy in the European mid-market infrastructure sector, focusing specifically on renewable energy investments and expanding its presence in the DACH region.

Equitix had previously invested in Enpal’s first German residential solar portfolio in 2023. This latest transaction builds upon the existing partnership with Enpal, MM Capital Partners (MMCP), and the business trust Keppel Infrastructure Trust. Leading Japanese leasing company MHLS (Mizuho Leasing) is also involved. Together, these investments form one of the largest residential solar energy portfolios in Europe, underscoring the strength of the partners' collaboration and supporting the continued expansion of decentralized renewable energy infrastructure in Germany.

The portfolio comprises approximately 17,300 operational systems installed in German households to facilitate decarbonization; an additional 6,400 systems are scheduled to be added by June 2027. These include rooftop photovoltaic systems, inverters, home storage units (approx. 70% of the systems), and electric vehicle charging stations (approx. 40% of the systems). Once fully operational, the portfolio is expected to comprise a renewable energy capacity of approximately 240 MW, including 35 MW from facilities that have already been retrofitted. "We are delighted to have once again advised Equitix on this forward-looking investment. The continued expansion of decentralized energy infrastructure is a key component of the energy transition in Germany. We are therefore particularly pleased to be able to contribute to the implementation of this project—and thus to the further expansion of renewable energy—through our legal advice," says lead partner Dr. Torsten Rosenboom, who, together with his team, provided support on all legal matters related to the investment.
